Happy Drug

Imagine what would happen if a pharmaceutical company announced that it had invented a drug which could effectively treat practically everything that could go wrong with a person. The short list would include: asthma, arthritis, allergies, indigestion, PMS, sinusitis, insomnia, Fibromyalgia, hot flashes, high blood pressure, infertility, constipation, side effects of chemotherapy, the common cold, and every conceivable variety of pain. And imagine that not only can this drug address all of these problems, but all of its side effects are positive. It reduces stress and elevates mood. It diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. This drug is so relaxing that some people who have nothing wrong with them like to use it on a regular basis, just because they enjoy it so much. It's a happy drug! And yet, it isn’t addictive, and there’s no way to overdose on it. Think about the potential for such a drug.

Now, imagine that this drug…isn’t a drug, but a practice that is a 5,000 year old approach to health and well being.

What am I talking about? Yep, you guessed it...Acupuncture!

What is Acupuncture? Acupuncture is the practice of inserting tiny needles under the skin at specific points in order to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself.

How does Acupuncture work? Acupuncture is based on what is called a meridian system. This system describes the energy pathways that run through the body carrying

Blood, body fluids, nutrition, and Qi (vital energy). This meridian system communicates with all the different systems in the body; the circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, and digestive system, as well as all the internal organs, tissue, fascia, joints, etc.

One could look at this meridian arrangement much like we look at the freeway system. Using this analogy, the cars are the blood, fluid, nutrition and Qi driving to where they need to go. When there is a block in the freeway, an accident, or traffic backing up, you can not get to where you need to go. This is much the same with the meridian system. When there is a blockage or stagnation, the blood, fluids, nutrients can not get to where they need to go. All stagnation causes ill health and disease. What causes blocks to occur: stress, negative thinking, lack of movement/exercise, and lack of proper nutrition. Acupuncture essentially works to remove the stagnation along the meridian system.

Why do people need Acupuncture?

The number one most important reason…IT”S EFFECTIVE!!!

Acupuncture is effective for an enormously wide range of conditions, so wide that it is likely that it will help almost any problem to some degree even if it can’t cure it entirely. For instance, in my experience, acupuncture can: decrease inflammation, calm spasms, boost immunity, increase fertility, induce labor, dispel a migraine, shrink swelling, relieve pain in almost any location, regulate hormone, cut recovery time from surgery in almost half, calm anxiety, lift depression, restore mobility, improve digestion, and create deep relaxation. That’s only the partial list.

Other reasons why people should be using acupuncture: it’s accessible, quick, easy, painless, and safe. There are limited to no risks involved with acupuncture.
