Why Would You Choose Acupuncture
Over Other Modalities?

Why would you choose acupuncture over other modalities?

  • Because it works!

  • Acupuncture reduces inflammation

  • Acupuncture treats the whole body, not just the symptom

  • Acupuncture treats the root cause of imbalance and disease instead of covering up symptoms that are meant to be there to communicate to you that the body needs attention

  • There are no negative or harmful side effects with acupuncture, only positive ones like restful sleep, feeling calm, and improved digestion

  • Acupuncture is NOT addictive like many pain medication

  • Acupuncture is an affordable, non-invasive approach to health and wellness

More on Chinese Medicine…

Acupuncture is a very effective tool in the treatment of pain.  Chronic, acute, area specific, referred, all over body pain, you name it…acupuncture treats it! Chronic or acute back and neck pain are probably the most common complaints that I see. Some examples of specific pain issues that are well treated with acupuncture would be: low back, neck, and shoulder pain, sciatica, muscle pain, menstrual cramps, migraines, and fibromyalgia.

Whether it’s an over use injury, an acute sprain or strain, or chronic degeneration, acupuncture works to rebalance the particular area of the body that is in need of support. The inherent wisdom of the body to heal is absolutely extraordinary when given proper tools to assist in healing. Acupuncture is one of those tools.

Leslie practices what is called the Balance Method. This method was put forth by Dr. Richard Tan of San Diego. This treatment style involves using distal points to where the pain is being experienced.  What this means is that needles are NOT placed directly where the patient is experiencing the pain.  Hand points are used to treat the low back, wrist and ankle points are used to treat the neck. This technique creates a reduction in pain immediately! Patients usually experience a 30-70 percent decrease in pain while on the table and sometimes up to 100 percent!  No waiting game.  Relief can be instantaneous.

How many treatments needed depends on the individual case at hand. Generally speaking chronic disorders require 10-20 treatments, while acute conditions need less.  Research has shown for best results, acupuncture should be given once per day for acute conditions and 2-3 times per week for chronic conditions.  Even treatment two times a week is far superior to one treatment per week.

"Acupuncture with Leslie has instantly erased migraines while on the treatment table!  I am not having headaches as often now, nor is the headache as intense as before.  I have not had one sinus infection in the past year where I previously had continuous sinus infections, one right after the other. Symptoms of allergies and multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) that I have suffered from most of my life have greatly diminished due to acupuncture and NAET.  I have quit most of my medications, under the supervision of my medical doctor.  My quality of life is overall greatly improved!"
